A fun yet imperfect photography project 366. Will you join me in taking a photo a day each day or so in 2016?
Do you all remember this project from last year? The Imperfect 365 Project? Over 13k amazing pictures were submitted in 2015 – which makes me so happy that so many you embraced this project! Want to do it again but with #Imperfect366 for leap year?
Check out the guidelines below…what’s great about this photography project is it’s open to anyone and there are no rules! Yay!
Project 366 Guidelines (not rules…this project has no rules!)
1) You take a photo a day with whatever camera you want to use. I’m going to try to focus on using my Nikon DSLR most of the time as I’ve found when I pick up my “big girl” camera each day, my photography really starts to improve. Camera phones, point and shoots, DSLR’s, polaroids, etc…whatever you want to shoot with, it’s totally up to you!
2) You share your photos either through Instagram with the hashtag of #Imperfect366 and/or join our Flickr group of perfectly imperfect participants. (I got locked out of Flickr because of an email hack about 8 months ago but finally got back in!)
3) Give up perfection. That’s the one and only rule of our #Imperfect366 photography project! What do I mean by that? Well, the hardest part of Project 366 is not giving into that “all or nothing” mentality. If it’s the end of the day and you realize you forgot to take a photo that day, who cares? Just start back up the next day! I can tell you that my kids LOVE my Project 366 photos more than just about anything I do, because it’s a really neat way to look back at the year. They are one of my favorite things too. Who cares if you miss a day or two or five? Let go of perfection and just pick up where ever you left off. Don’t give up simply because you missed a step…that’s silly!
4) This project is open to anyone who just wants to capture moments throughout 366 days. Bloggers and non-bloggers are encouraged to join! Also, you don’t have to be a pro at photography to join! All skill levels are welcome. I’d love to see this community thrive as the most perfectly imperfect group of 366’rs out there! PS – join at anytime (you notice we aren’t starting on the 1st…that’d be too perfect)! Today, next week, next month…whenever works for you! Also, if you join and share photos, take a few minutes to comment and like other participants photos. That’s one of the best parts of a Project 366…the encouragement from others and connecting through photography!
This go around I’m also going to be providing some photography prompts for you each week. Some days it’s hard to feel creative, so I’ll have some ideas for you along the way. It’s up to you if you use them or not… remember, there are no rules to this Project 366.
Here are my first few photos of the year… I am great about taking photos every day, but fail miserably at sharing them, printing them, etc. My goal this year is to change that!
January 1st The first page for 2016 of my Bullet Journal. (I wrote all about bullet journaling here – be sure to check it out!)
January 2nd Our kitten, Slim Shady, lounging in the stream of sunlight.
January 3rd We got a new faucet and soap dispenser for our kitchen sink, and Leah was quite the daddy’s helper installing it!
I hope you all will join me in this no rules, fun and laid back Project 366 photography project! I look forward to seeing your photos! Stay tuned next Sunday for an update with some photography prompts to help inspire you.
