My Happiness Report is a weekly collection of happy things, for the week ending October 28th, 2018.
Dear friend,
Hello! Happy Happiness Report day. Last week was full of happy things, which was great, but made me get behind on those must do things. Sometimes that’s ok. I’m just going to give myself some grace and let it slide.
What was happy about last week? First of all, I was incredibly productive with my blog and at work. I shared TWO awesome new recipes on Dine & Dish. I went with a friend to listen to Cheryl Strayed (author of the book Wild) talk at an event called “Write Your Story”. That was incredible and would have made last week pretty happy in itself. The best latte was had at the cutest not for profit coffee shop with a friend. My sister came into town and we got to hang out. And, I finished 3 books.
In addition, I went to Orange Theory and played tennis. Kelly, her friend Sydney and I went to the State Cross Country meet and cheered on their friend Katie as she won first place. We went to my sons girlfriends brothers house and enjoyed a fun afternoon of pumpkin carving, s’mores and flag football playing. I got caught up in my bullet journal. I cooked most of our meals at home, which means we rarely ate out.
But wait, there’s more! My husbands business trip got cancelled so he was home for most of the week (and now is gone for pretty much the rest of the year except weekends…sadface). I went to a super fun wine tasting party with newer friends. There was lots of family, friend and me time. It was a really happy week.
As you can tell, it’s very clear the things that make me happy. Sometimes I wonder if I know it so well, why don’t I carve more time out of each day for the happiest of things? Life gets busy and overwhelming. The reality of “must dos” take over the “want to dos” and “frivolous happy things” get pushed aside. I’m vowing to remember how I felt this past week and to make those little things that make me happy more of a priority. Want to join me? If you could craft your perfect week, what are some of the happy things you’d include? Share them with me so we can hold each other accountable.
Let’s move onto some happy things I found and wanted to share this week, shall we?
Happy Things This Week
As I mentioned above, I shared 2 recipes this past week. This new one-pot family staple is from a great new cookbook you will want to own.
If you are into the whole Instant Pot craze, we really loved this easy chicken recipe.
Hey book lovers…have you voted? (And subsequently stuffed your to read shelf with even more books?)
A great morning routine is key to setting the tone for the day. I love these “must add” additions.
Speaking of morning, with Daylight Savings Time coming up, it’s a really great time to devote one hour to this.
As the days get longer and a bit more dreary, I’m going to make sure to check out these pictures as much as possible. So dreamy.
Do you often lose your keys at the bottom of your purse? You NEED one of these. I have a sparkly rose gold one and it makes me super happy.
This bestie of Mandy Moore finally shows us how to get those perfect cool girl waves. She has my dream hair!
Cara makes Halloween food look so fun! I’m doing the mummy juice boxes for Leah’s school party. If you need last minute Halloween ideas, check her out.
This lunch lady makes me incredibly happy. More of this in the world, please!
Every time I wear these, people ask me if they are worth the price. I say, hands down, YES (and this isn’t something I normally spend much money on!)
Old trucks with Christmas Trees make me happy. That’s why I need one of these ASAP.
While we’re at it, this too (what a great and inexpensive DIY project!)
Let me know your happy things and spread the happiness!
OK friends, that’s it for my Happiness Report this week! If you know someone you think would enjoy receiving a note of happiness in their inbox once a week, it’d make me so happy if you’d send them to this link to sign up. If you’d each share it with just one friend, you’d be passing on some positivity which the world needs. I love expanding my community of happiness lovers!
When you get a chance, leave a comment and let me know what’s making you happy lately (or just touch base and say hi!). I always love hearing from you 🙂
Have a great rest of your week and thanks for stopping by. (I can’t believe it’s almost NOVEMBER!)

I read quite a few but only in a couple categories. Looks like I need to broaden my horizons!

I was same I read many books in the usual categories for the GoodReads awards. As I made votes I tried to put ones that looked good into my want to read list. I started off strong last year on the 4 different genres reading guide but stopped mid way through. 2019 I’m sticking to it. I’m also thinking of leaving book blogging. I miss going to the library and picking out books or waiting for that anticipated book to come in.
2019 Monthly Reading plan: Read 1 Non Fiction (a hard one for me because they are not my go to books) Read 1 Classic ( ones I never got around to reading and ones I love) Read 1 Fiction (any genre) and 1 recommended ( through instagram, friends, my girls etc..) than if I still have time in the month it’s a freebie so any genre. .

Looks like it was a busy but blissful week!!
I am so behind on reading this year it’s not even funny. And I’ve never even heard of most of the Goodreads nominees. Except in the all time category but how can you even pick just one of those?
My happiness of the week was baking carrot muffins with my elder little, and a fun family night out with some new friends watching our kids all become groupies for the band playing at the neighborhood pizza place.:)
