Fresh squeezed lemonade is a definite spring and summertime staple around our house.

Have you ever made freshly squeezed lemonade? It’s really a lot easier than you’d think! Now, don’t go and use bottled lemon juice if you decide to make homemade lemonade. That’s good in some instances, but unless you want skunky tasting lemonade, stick with juice from lemons you squeeze yourself. It makes a big difference, trust me!

My friends at Overstock.com sent me a stylish beverage dispenser a few days ago so our summer lemonade could be easily poured and shared all summer long! Fresh Squeezed Lemonade

There is nothing quite like fresh, squeezed lemonade on a hot, summer day!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon rind
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice 8 large lemons
  • 5 cups water

Instructions

  • Stir together sugar and 1/2 cup boiling water until sugar dissolves.
  • Stir in lemon rind, lemon juice, and 5 cups water.
  • Chill. Serve over ice.

    I love a good lightly sweetened tea. I’m from the South, so of couse, everyone loves REALLY sweet tea, but I just like it lightly sweetened, sometimes just sweetened with some lemonade. Yum! Thank you for the giveaway!

    By all means Lemonade!! Love homemade lemonade. When I was a teenager, I worked at a soft pretzel stand, and that was one ofmy jobs, was to squeeze the lemons and make sure there was enough of lemonade in the dispenser!!

    I don’t want to be unoriginal, but you really can’t beat fresh squeezed lemonade. And this looks great! I’m always a fan of a nice cold beer though, too 🙂

    I’m so tempted to go make lemonade right now! I even have 2 lemons… (it would have to be a scaled down version for sure.) A few years ago I found a recipe for a peach slush drink that I absolutely adore – however I haven’t made it for a while… you’ve inspired me to dig it out again.

    So many favorites to choose from – homemade limeades are delicious, fresh squeezed lemonade is right up there and sun tea hits the spot. I could go on…iced coffee, dr. pepper. I think I’m a fan of drinks period.

    I will definitely try your lemonade recipe it sounds delicious. I would have to say it is a toss up between seltzer water with a splash of fruit juice or iced tea.

    Lemonade is good especially when we can pick them out from the tree in the backyard which seem to ripen during winter when I get the sniffles. A glass of fresh squeezed lemonade works better than overthecounter medicine.
