Here are the March 2017 Rock Your Happy Prompts!
Thanks to our awesome designer and per your request, we now have the prompts in printable format – click here for the planner size or here for bookmark size!
March 1st – What’s up March? Take a look at the month ahead and see what you have coming up. What can you say no to? When do you have some wiggle room? Take a look at the calendar and schedule some FUN!
(HT) I am loving these FREE wall calendars from The Alison Show. You can sign up for her Year of Awesome and she sends them to you each month. I print them at Staples on blueprint paper for $4.
March 2nd – Exercise. Try something new and different. Try a new yoga class, pilates, boxing, spin, YouTube video.
(HT) Our friend Debra turned us on to this amazing YouTube channel. And this one always makes me want to dance and work out.
March 3rd – Meme. Spend a few minutes looking at funny meme’s. My husband gets so much joy from having a meme for every occasion. He sends me them all day long.
(HT) Pinterest is a great place to find funny ones.
March 4th – Clean out your hard drive. Free up some space and make your computer run faster. I am a digi-hoarder, so I need to do this periodically to make enough room for more pictures.
(HT) Here is a good tutorial on how to do this.
March 5th – Pedi/Mani. Treat yourself to a pedicure or manicure or give yourself one at home.
(HT) My nail salon has started offering this nail powder and it is amazing! Stays on like gel, but without the damage to your nails. I am hooked.
March 6th – Take a Picture. Grab your camera and snap away!
(Happy Tip – HT) Do you need some help figuring out what to take pictures of? We think these tips might help.
March 7th – Windshield Note. Spread some kindness and put a positive note or two on some car windshields today.
(HT) Feeling extra creative? Follow in the footsteps of this windshield poet.
March 8th – Schedule some FUN! Look at what’s happening around your city or town, and schedule some fun to your calendar for the weekend.
(HT) Here’s what can happen if you put FUN on your calendar!
March 9th – Declutter Books. We know this is a hard one, but think of the books you can bless someone else with!
(HT) Take your books to a local school, hospital or your library. Or you could see if there’s one of these awesome things near you accepting donations.
March 10th – Smell the roses. Seriously…stop and smell the roses (or any other flowers you can find).
(HT) Smelling the roses is a hint to slow down and savor life. If you need a daily reminder, we love this so much.
March 11th – Sleep in. Enjoy a leisurely morning in bed. Have little ones? Bring them in bed with you!
(HT) Need to get more zzzzz’s? Here are some great tips!
March 12th – Analog Sunday. Turn off those electronics and go analog for the day!
(HT) Disconnect to reconnect with your self, family, and friends. It’ll be worth it, we promise!
March 13th – Ice Cream! A cup or cone of our favorite treat sounds like an excellent way to start a week if you ask us.
(Happy Tip – HT) Head to your favorite ice cream shop or make this easy, no-churn ice cream recipe.
March 14th – Watch a classic. Philadelphia Story is a favorite and so is Roman Holiday.
(HT) Need some inspiration? 100 of the best classic movies.
March 15th – Comment. Leave a kind comment on a blog or social media post of someone you admire. Don’t be scared, they won’t bite.
March 16th – Daydream. Resist the urge to kill some time on your phone. Instead let your mind wander.
(HT) The right way to daydream. Favorite daydreams – winning the lottery, being on a tropical island, or in a lavender field in Provence.
March 17th – Games. Play a board or card game. Board games are a favorite pastime in both of our houses. We never go anyhwere without a deck of cards on us. Bonus points that this desk is so pretty.
(HT) We love Ticket to Ride, Scattegories, and Machi Koro.
March 18th – Cook a family recipe. Dig out grandma’s recipe binder and make something that will create family memories.
Bree’s family recipe – Lemon Meringue Pie. It was my grandfather’s favorite and I think of him every time I see one.
Kristen’s family recipe – Homemade Chicken and Egg Noodles. This recipe has been passed down from generation to generation and will always be a favorite!
March 19th – Take a drive. Get in the car, turn up the music, and go on an adventure. Take your time, stop if you see a pretty view. Enjoy some fresh air.
(HT) Want to find a pretty drive? Use this tool to help.
March 20th – Favorite outfit – wear your favorite outfit today. You know, the one that makes you look and feel great!
(Happy Tip – HT) I always feel so much happier when I take the time to get put together each day. If you are not a fashionista like me, you may want to check out Trunk Club (it’s free to try). My stylist has done an awesome job of sending me several outfits that have become my favorite!
March 21st – Calming Space. Work on creating a space in your home that makes you calm and happy.
(HT) Have you heard of Hygge? This book and this blog are a great place to start for ideas on how to create a calming, cozy space in your home. The Nester also has some great tips for “quieting” your home.
March 22nd – Happy List. Make a list of 20 things that make you happy.
(HT) Bonus points for emailing your list to us! We’d love to use your ideas for future happy prompts.
March 23rd – Breathe. Take 5 minutes to just focus on breathing.
(HT) Thanks to The Miracle Morning, I’ve discovered the Calm app. I highly recommend it to learn the fine art of breathing and meditation.
March 24th – Rest. Take time to simply rest today.
(HT) Rest is key to happiness. If that’s the case, why is it a lost practice?
March 25th – Entertain. Invite friends over for breakfast, lunch or dinner today.
Our friend Sandy shows you how to entertain, even if you’re reluctant. Opening up your home to friends is a great way to connect with others which equals happiness!
March 26th – Brunch or Linner. Most Sundays, I make one big meal instead of three. A big brunch or late lunch/early dinner. After that meal, the kitchen is closed for business. I am not cooking another thing. I start the week with a clean kitchen and can enjoy my Sunday night. For brunch, I usually make pancakes, fruit, eggs, bacon, and sausage. And for linner a big, Mexician-style salad.
(HT) Here is my favorite pancake recipe, and my favorite dinner salad.
March 27th – Smile! Be generous with your smiles today. Make eye contact and smile at people as you go about your day. Smiles are contagious. ?
March 28th – Care package. Send someone a care package for no reason. There is nothing more fun than getting an unexpected package from someone.
(Happy Tip – HT) You can also make care packages for the homeless, military members, or to senior centers. A quick google search is all it takes to find out more info on what and where to send.
March 29th – Doodle. Get out the paper and crayons and just doodle! It’s so relaxing and brings you right back to your childhood.
(HT) Make a doodle bag for you or a friend. Keep a small bag of markers and crayons in my purse with a notebook for whenever the mood strikes to doodle. You’d be surprised how often it will get used.
March 30th – Make your bed. Take the few extra minutes to make your bed.
(HT) Extra credit – change your sheets. There is nothing better than getting into a bed with fresh sheets. Spray this DIY linen spray for some added zen before bed.
March 31st – March Happy Check! What made you happy this month?
Bree – I really loved the game prompt this month. All 5 of us filled out an NCAA bracket and are having so much fun checking our teams and maybe talking a little trash.
Kristen – The Daydreaming prompt was my favorite this past month. From dreaming of owning something like this beautiful flower truck to dream vacation planning, my daydreams have been getting a workout!
