Happy Saturday, friends!
I’m so sorry for the delay in sending out my newsletter this week. I woke up on Wednesday with the worst aches and pains I’ve had in a long time. Turns out my Rheumatoid Arthritis was flaring up and I’ve had a difficult time functioning. I was almost in tears this morning in bed, wishing someone could just wrap me up in a really tight burrito and squeeze me. Random, right? But I think that would feel so good!
So needless to say, this week I just haven’t been “feeling it”. But then, I got out of bed, moved to the couch, and realized how ridiculous I was being. I can’t let this stupid disease run my life…and keep me from happiness. So I’m up and functioning this morning and just working through it, remembering “this too shall pass”. Our plans are to finally decorate our Easter eggs and possibly go to Jacob’s baseball game this afternoon if the rain ever stops (is it bad that I’m hoping it keeps raining so we can stay home?).
One thing that has been making me so happy this week is my new hobby, flower arranging! After going to a workshop and learning the basics, I’ve enjoyed buying flowers at Trader Joe’s and making arrangements for my house. The bouquets pictured in this newsletter are two of my creations. I still have a lot to learn, but in the meantime, it is always so much fun to learn something new! Arranging flowers definitely helps me to rock my happy! Do you have any “happy hobbies”? What are they? Let me know!
Now, let’s move on to things that made me happy this week!
I attempted to lessen the carb and fat laden filler in one of my favorite foods, and it was a success!
Watching these people jump to action instead of just standing around made me happy…and I’m sure the dolphins too!
I can’t wait to plant my fresh herbs this year…and this is how I’m going to do it! Isn’t that a cool idea?
I may have to get my craft on to make this for my door. It probably looks easier than it actually is though 🙂
If you are a blogger and haven’t read this post from Cook Republic, it was the most relatable thing I read this week.
I’m a sucker for those monthly subscription boxes. This one is my absolute new favorite (thanks for the FYI Amy!)
And finally, meet Julia…the newest member of our “family”. OK, not really but we made the decision to sponsor a child, and she’s it. I’m so excited to get to know her better and share more of our experience in the future.
Well, that’s it for this week, friends! I absolutely love hearing from you all each week! Hit reply and let me know how you are doing and what’s making you happy!
I hope you have a great weekend and Happy Easter!
