I am blaming this Slow Cooker Butterfinger Hot Chocolate recipe on Anna from Crunchy Creamy Sweet. She made a Homemade Butterfinger Bark for her blog the other day that pretty much blew me away. Did you know if you take candy corn and peanut butter and melt them together it tastes just like the inside of a Butterfinger candy bar? Me neither! But now I do and I’m obsessed.
Add to this new found discovery the fact that I have a daughter with a birthday coming up. She wants to go on a hayride with family and friends for her party and after have s’mores and hot chocolate to drink. My mind was trying to figure out how to have a large batch of hot chocolate ready for the girls after the hayride. This train of thought then went to… Oh! Enter to Win a Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker Cook & Carry
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 2 cups candy corn
- 2 cups peanut butter
- 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 8 cups milk
- Crushed up Butterfinger Candy Bars (optional)
- Whipped Cream
- Add chocolate chips, candy corn, peanut butter and sweetened condensed to the bowl of your slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until chocolate has melted. (The candy corn will be softer but not melted yet).
- With a wire whisk, stir in 2 cups of the milk until smooth. Gradually stir in remaining 6 cups of milk.
- Cover and cook on high setting for an additional 2 hours until hot and candy corn is mostly melted.
- Reduce heat to the keep warm setting and ladle into mugs. Top with whipped cream and crushed up Butterfinger Candy Bars, if desired.
