Some of you really like things hot. I know my dad isn’t happy with the heat of something unless he has tears streaming down his face. His “hot” tolerance is off the charts. For most of us though, we may like a little spice, but we don’t want the heat to take over the flavor of the food. Instead, we prefer for it to simply enhance what we are eating.
For that special kind of spicy zest, I always turn to TABASCO® Original Red to add a little extra flavor to what I’m cooking. In fact, when I was looking back over my soup recipes getting ready for Soup-a-Palooza, I realized that the majority of the recipes I love have a splash or two of TABASCO® sauce to give that extra element of flavor. Try it next time when you are making soup. Add a Tablespoon of TABASCO® to your pot and I promise you will love the subtle yet distinctive flavor it adds.
Since I love TABASCO® sauce in soup, I decided to head over to the TABASCO® website to see if there were any soup recipes there to try out. Not only did I find this great Spicy Sweet Potato Soup recipe, I also discovered a multitude of recipes I can’t wait to try out! This sounds awesome! I love sweet and spicy soups!
wow! you are one brave lady! a little kick in my soup is exactly the way I like it!
This looks so good! I love original tabasco, but my true love is with the green tabasco. So much flavor – I put it directly on tortilla chips before eating. YUM!
Of all the lovely things that I think of doing with sweet potatoes, soup is something that never came to my mind. Love it and exp the kick in it!
Sweet Potato Soup with a kick of Tabasco sounds like something my husband would love, but he isn’t a fan of pureed soups. I might have to play with your recipe, if you don’t mind. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Wow, I’ve never thought of combining potatoes with spice. I was wondering, though, just how rich the soup is – I have trouble eating very rich soups and try to downplay the cream. How does the soup turn out without the extra cream?
Love the kick of Tobasco!
Delicious and beautiful!! LOVE the addition of Tabasco!!!
That soup sounds so good with the combination of sweet potatoes, orange and the bit of kick. I can’t wait to try this.
Yum! I love Tabasco sauce, and I add it to soup a lot. I never thought to add it to sweet potato soup, though. Yum!
I love sweet potatoes! Thanks for sharing this soup recipe, it sounds absolutely wonderful.
Sweet potatoes and soup sound like a lovely combo. And I love the Tabasco kick!
Totally bookmarking this! LOVE Tabasco!
Seems like a lot of folks have forgotten about good-old Tabasco. Sriracha is the flavor of the day, but Tabasco is still #1 in our house. Cheers!
A sweet and spicy soup sounds wonderful, maybe a little less spicy for me – I’m kind of a wimp when it comes to heat!
I am so NOT a spicy food person, that I would have thought NOTHING with hot sauce would be good. But I was wrong. I wrote a post a while back for Tabasco, and my recipe was for potato salad. The hot sauce really adds a great zing.
If you’re worried about using hot sauce, you might be surprised. Sweet potato soup sounds so good.
I am a lover of all things spicy, so this is definitely something that I want to make in the very near future!
Looks delicious! I’ve never thought to add Tabasco to soup- great idea!
Thanks for the recipe… i made it with vegerable broth, and it was very tasty.
I like it HOT! This sounds so satisfying and scrumptious! And Kristen, those photos are *stunning* the bowls are gorgeous too!
What gorgeous photos! I just sent the link to this post to my husband because he LOVES the heat. Yum!
I definitely love Tabasco sauce, and soups – but, were you doing a product review, or are you getting paid by Tabasco? This is the first time one of your posts almost read like an advertisement. I think this soup would taste great with lime instead of the orange, too!
🙂
