California Avocado Walking Tacos

California Avocado Walking Tacos www.dineanddish.net

This recipe for Walking Tacos was created using fresh California Avocados.  Cinco de Mayo is coming up, which happens to be my favorite food holiday of the year. I know that Cinco de Mayo has way more significance than just the food, but you have to admit...it's hard to find a holiday to celebrate with better food around! For the avocado lover, especially, Cinco de Mayo is the mecca of all holidays because it's the perfect time to highlight California Avocados, which are newly in season. There are so many fantastic recipes featuring avocados this time of year! Give me an avocado plain, and I'm a happy girl. Give me a buffet of recipes, all featuring avocados, and I'm thrilled. Like a kid in a candy shop! … [Continue reading]

Rustic Italian Sponge Cake with Creamy Cheesecake Filling

A light and airy Italian Spongecake filled with a Creamy Cheesecake Filling, created in partnership with PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese. Not only are we celebrating Easter this weekend, we are celebrating Nick's grandmas 90th birthday!! I'm so excited to get together with his family, including all his aunts, uncles and cousins (and they are Irish Catholic, so that means there will be a ton of people there) to celebrate this wonderful woman! I really love his grandma...and we know how lucky we are to still have her in our lives! 90 is definitely worth having a big, huge celebration, don't you think? … [Continue reading]

Church Classic {Recipe: Vanilla Texas Sheet Cake}

Vanilla Texas Sheet Cake from www.dineanddish.net

Vanilla Texas Sheet Cake is a twist on a classic church potluck recipe, topped with a creamy vanilla frosting and chopped Diamond walnuts. I don't want to be disrespectful, but the desserts that the church ladies provide for funerals are the best! There is nothing like a table full of a variety of desserts, all so varying and tempting in their own way.  When I am in front of that dessert table, I remember exactly what it felt like to be a kid in a candy shop. So many choices...I want them all! … [Continue reading]

Roasted Veggie Pizza for #PizzaWeek

Oven Roasted Veggie Pizza on dineanddish.net #pizzaweek

If you like vegetable pizza than you will love this oven roasted veggie pizza, the recipe I'm sharing today for a blogging collaboration called #PizzaWeek.  I like vegetables, a lot. I always have. In fact, growing up when I got to choose my birthday dinner the main thing I would ask for was lima beans. (Really...lima beans? Does anyone even eat lima beans anymore?) For someone who likes veggies, I've never been a huge fan of vegetable pizza. I'm sure we've all experienced those pizza chain pizzas with the rubbery tasting onions and peppers on top of a soggy crusted pizza lacking in flavor. I just always assumed that's what vegetable pizzas were like. Thank goodness I grew out of that phase and wised up because one of my favorite things ever right now is Oven Roasted Veggie Pizza.  … [Continue reading]

The Happiness Report Number 27 dineanddish.net

Friends, do you see those beautiful SPRING like flowers up there? I have a couple growing in my yard right now, but that particular vase of daffodils is a gift from my friend Jenny who got them at Trader Joe's. I absolutely love the flowers (and the price for flowers) at Trader Joe's. It's only right that I open up this Happiness Report with the touch of spring these beautiful flowers have given my home!  … [Continue reading]
