Avocado White Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Baking with Avocados White Chocolate Avocado Cookies from dineanddish.net

This Avocado White Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe is a great one to try if you want to experiment with baking with avocados. I know what you are thinking...avocados in a chocolate chip cookies recipe? It may sound strange, but the nutty, creamy flavor fresh California Avocados adds to a cookie or bread (like in this Pistachio Avocado Quick Bread Recipe) is so good. If you do a search for Avocado Recipes on the web, you'll discover there aren't a lot of options for baking with avocados...and I'm here to change that. Seriously, try it once and once you do, you'll try to figure out how you can add more avocados into your baked goods!  … [Continue reading]

Finally a Photo Organizing Tool That Works for Me {Giveaway}

Screen Shot 2014-09-11 at 8.57.39 AM

Welcome to ThisLife by Shutterfly...I've finally found a way to organize, share, and and enjoy my photos!  I take a lot of photos... between my camera phone and my DSLR, I am constantly clicking away. On a typical, average, just life happening kind of day, I take around 30 photos. On days where life is a little more exciting and we have special plans or events, I have been known to take up to 100 pictures or more. It's a hobby and passion and one way I really enjoy capturing the everyday moments. I often get asked by others about how I organize my photos, especially since I take so many. The truth is, up until recently, my photos and the complete lack of any system were a hot mess. They mostly live on my hard drive, maybe sorted by date and are definitely rarely printed or shared for others to enjoy. I take all of these photos only to have them buried in folders on my computer I never look in. Enter ThisLife... an amazing tool from Shutterfly that has given me new hope for getting my photos out of hard drive abyss and into the eyes of my family and others to see. Here is what I love about ThisLife. … [Continue reading]

Two Handed Coffee {Recipe – Chocolate Caramel Latte Muffins}

Chocolate Caramel Latte Muffins from dineanddish.net

  Chocolate Caramel Latte Muffins made with the newest variety of Millstone Mayan Black Onyx coffee and a secret ingredient. Oh Two-Handed Coffee Hour... how I love you so. Did I ever tell you what inspired my two-handed coffee hour? Well it was a few things. First of all, the name was inspired by this blog post on Under the Sycamore. Adding friends and making it a weekly (or kind of weekly) event was inspired by Desperate Housewives, of all places. I swear I was born to be a 1950's type housewife...although in reality I'd probably be quite miserable. I mean, what did those ladies do all day without the internet to keep them company? ;) Anyway, you know how in the show Desperate Housewives, after the men would head off to work (or to their mistresses house or to murder some unsuspecting neighbor) the wives would get together in one of the kitchens and spend an hour or so drinking coffee together, chatting about current life drama? I love that... I wanted that. And in all of my 12 years of being a work from home mom, that's not something that ever really happened regularly. So, I decided to create my weekly Two-Handed Coffee Hour for a once a week connecting time with friends. And I love doing it as much as I thought I would. It's a soul charging, happy hour. Connecting, especially when you are fairly isolated at home during the day, is such an important thing.  … [Continue reading]

Grilling Made Easy {Recipe: Tuscan Steak Salad}

Friends... I am finally manning the grill! If you've been following Dine & Dish at all over the past few years, you know that grilling has not been my thing, despite really wanting to learn how. It wasn't because I lacked eagerness. It was because I just so happened to like being alive and was terrified of figuring out all the tricks to turning on our beloved "ghetto grill". Well, just a few weeks ago we received a new Weber grill and it is mine all mine! Since then, I've been attempting to teach myself how to grill, and if I can take a moment to humble brag, I'm pretty darn good at it! … [Continue reading]

Juicy Fruit Bubble Gum Blowing Party!

Friends, sometimes I choose to work with clients because I absolutely love the client. Other times I work with a client because I love the product and, like in this situation with Juicy Fruit, I have fond memories associated with them AND I know that my kids will think I'm the coolest mom on the planet because of the partnership! Because Kelly broke her leg towards the end of the summer, we had to leave some of the items on our 2014 Summer of Fun Bucket List un-checked. The end of our summer ended up being a bit lame... a lot of sitting around, doing not much of anything because Kelly was still pretty hurt. Luckily, my friends at Juicy Fruit sent us quite the care package full of their newest varieties of bubble gum - yes!! … [Continue reading]
