I’m honored to be a part of the 2014 Kraft Tastemaker Community, where I am teaming up with Kraft Foods to bring you family friendly recipes using common ingredients found in your pantry! This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to winner, Amy of Very Culinary who was chosen via Random.org. Thanks to all who entered! Wow…this winter has been a tough one, hasn’t it? Deep into February, and snow day after snow day after snow day, I honestly thought spring would never get here! Thank goodness the days are getting longer, and the sun is shining warmer…and everything is finally starting to turn green again! One of my favorite things about spring is the return of my favorite vegetable…asparagus. I absolutely love asparagus, and even though I know I can get fresh asparagus in the other seasons, there is nothing like the big, green stalks of asparagus at the market this time of year!  … [Continue reading]

Simply Simple {Recipe: 3 Ingredient Cherry Chocolate Dump Cake}

3 Ingredient Cherry Chocolate Dump Cake www.dineanddish.net

I wasn't going to share this dump cake recipe with you. I don't know why... I just felt like maybe it was beneath my "standards". I have no idea why I'm being so judgey with myself about it! It's really not that different than the amazing Peach Dump Cake I shared on Dine & Dish a couple years ago. It's not like I'm "above" using canned ingredients and box cake mixes. I guess I just felt that it was too simple. In fact, it was so simple, Leah (my 4 year old) pretty much made it herself. I just had to open the cans for her and tell her what to do and she did it. With an abundance of pride, at that! … [Continue reading]

Snack Time {Recipe: Whiskey Honey Toasted Walnuts}

Whiskey Honey Toasted Walnuts from www.dineanddish.net

Whiskey Honey Toasted Walnuts is a versatile and tasty snack recipe featuring the goodness of Diamond Brand Walnuts. Are you a big snacker? I honestly have never been a big eat in between meals kind of person. I fuel my in between meal time with coffee, for sure, but have never been one to really snack a lot on other things. I'm starting to think that's because maybe I haven't been snacking on the right foods. I made this amazing recipe for Whiskey Honey Toasted Walnuts originally as a salad topper and as something to add texture and flavor to my morning yogurt. What I didn't expect to happen was to create a new snack food that I just can't stop eating! I should probably be embarrassed by the sheer number of walnuts I've eaten as a snack since creating this recipe. I just can't seem to get enough of them! … [Continue reading]

Mac and Cheese Mania {Recipe: Crab Mac and Cheese}

Crabby Mac and Cheese Recipe from www.dineanddish.net

The surgery I had a few weeks ago kind of knocked me on my rear for a bit. First, I had a reaction to the pain medication. Then, after a few weeks of feeling like absolute crud, I went back into the doctor and discovered I had an infection and was anemic. That pretty much explained why I just wanted to nap all day long, was so moody and couldn't get up the motivation to do anything. Least of all, cook! I finally started on an antibiotic this week and feel so much better. My level of energy is way up and my mood has improved as well. And, I finally feel like cooking (and blogging) again! After weeks of eating out, it felt great to get back into the kitchen. What felt even better was having the first recipe I made, this Crabby Mac and Cheese, be an absolute hit. My husband stated, after chowing down on one serving "This could stand head to head with any of the seafood Mac & Cheese recipes I've had in some of the finest restaurants in Boston." That made my day! … [Continue reading]
