#ThisIs40 Photography Project {Week 1}

#ThisIs40 Photography Project Week 1

So... I turned 40 last week and oh what a week it was! I spent a week away, part with friends, part with my husband and had a lot of time to think and reflect and plan. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend my birthday! With the thinking came a few regrets. One of those being that I really, really miss doing the Project 365 photo project and sharing it on Dine & Dish with you all. They were never my most popular posts... I know you all come here for the food... but they were one of my favorites. I've decided to start a new daily photo project called #ThisIs40 and I plan on documenting the next 365 days of my life through photos. Today is the first installment. As always I'd love for you to follow me on Instagram...my favorite social media platform. I'm going to try to take most of my pictures for this project with my DSLR Camera (so they won't be on IG), but there are always some fun things I might share on Instagram with the hashtag #ThisIs40 that I won't share here. So with all that said, here we go! Thanks for coming along for my 40th year!  … [Continue reading]

Huge Kraft Foods Halloween Goodies Giveaway

I’m honored to be a part of the 2013 Kraft Tastemaker Community, where I am teaming up with Kraft Foods to bring you family friendly recipes using common ingredients found in your pantry!  Can you believe Halloween is right around the corner? Everyone puts a sign on their door that the candy is at our house, and we all hang out by the fire pit in our driveway and pass out Halloween candy. It's a really fun time to hang out with our friends! This year will be no exception, I'm sure.  … [Continue reading]

Recipe: Creamy Mushroom and 3 Bean Soup

Creamy Mushroom and 3 Bean Soup from Dine & Dish

Creamy Mushroom and 3 Bean Soup is a zesty and flavorful bowl of comfort. When you look for fresh mushrooms for your recipes this month, you'll notice mushrooms will be sold in pink packaging in honor of National Breast Cancer awareness month recognizing the industry’s commitment to breast cancer research. Thanks to The Mushroom Council and their partnership with City of Hope for sponsoring this recipe challenge giveaway and post.  When you lose a friend or family member to cancer, you tend to step back and take inventory of how you live your life. Every product you use, every bit of food you eat gets scrutinized just a little more closely. You begin to wonder if there are things you, personally, can do to lessen your risk of cancer coming into your life again. You pay closer attention to companies supporting cancer research. You follow key messaging and hope...hope and pray... that a cure is on the way so no one ever has to face this horrible disease again. … [Continue reading]
