The Happiness Report #24

The Happiness Report #24 from dineanddish.netHappy Happiness Report Day, everyone! Are you ready to share in some happy? Let’s do it!

First off, my newest coffee mug from Pier 1 is the best, don’t you think? I love this time of year and the beginning of sweater season!

Humans of New York Book

This book is bringing me so much joy. As much as I absolutely love the website, there is something about reading the stories and looking through the pictures while holding it all in your hands that makes it a different experience. I will be loving this book for years to come! Also, after watching this video, I’m vowing to take my camera out into the world with me more and to ask people more questions!

I will be doing my first half marathon tomorrow morning. As you know from this blog post I’ve been struggling with running since signing up. I’ll be really happy when race day is over and done. Hopefully I’ll still be breathing and alive!

If you love to read and love getting book recommendations based on other books you’ve read and enjoyed, check out this site. Pretty cool, right?

ec-plannerMy new Erin Condren Planner arrived this past week… This is my second Erin Condren planner and I love it so much! If you love beautiful things and products to help you stay organized, check out her line of products here. She also has a deal right now where if you buy something through my referral link, you’ll get $10 off your order! She doesn’t have sales very often, so that’s pretty exciting!

This blog… oh this beautiful blog. It’s not new to me, but it has absolutely shot up in my rank of favorites. I could look at this style of photography every day!

I’ve been trying a new thing out on Facebook where I am showcasing a “Featured Blog of the Day”. Make sure to follow Dine & Dish on facebook so you can be introduced to some great blogs!

And finally, this picture is sure to make you smile… I just know it!

  1. I was actually just thinking about you while contemplating a post (a personal one about relationships with food) on my site, and in the process I was thinking how blessed I am to call you a friend and have you as a constant reminder of the good a voice in the world can do. So for today, it’s you that’s making me happy.

  2. Thanks for sharing all of these happy things with us! It’s been a stressful morning at my house (dog and toddler drama…when it rains it pours kind of thing) and I needed some positive vibes. Things that are making me happy this morning: drinking a cup of my favorite coffee that we brought back from Crested Butte, the inch of snow we got over night, and my son’s sweet hugs that he has started giving me for no reason at all. Thanks for steering my thoughts to happy things! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  3. I love it! We’re not quite in sweater weather here…or even anything but shorts and a tank… BUT I do love this time of year. Good luck on your half tomorrow! You’ll do great. Walking is not only allowed but encouraged. :)

  4. I love these posts!! I literally am reading it as my son is melting down as though someone is stabbing him with a knife but I am so grateful for him regardless as well as our baby coming soon. :-)

  5. I just love these posts. I’m slightly (okay a lot) jealous of your EC planner. I put one in my cart on her site about 100 times before sucking it up and buying a cheapo one from Target. We’re in super-save mode for a down payment on a new house. It’s so much fun (not). But it will be when we get a great house! :)

Play dates with friends and a hot mocha are making me happy right now. :)

  6. Right this moment? Happiness is my kids at school, a doggie on my lap, turkey stew simmering on the stove, and 70’s music in the background. It’s impossible to not be happy when Gloria Gaynor is singing!

  7. I love these posts and I really should comment more instead of just always pinning your desserts! I’m looking forward to a long overdue reunion with my sister today and that is making me happy. Have fun at the race tomorrow :)

PS: Thank you for the new blog suggestions.

  8. Pat Wogan says:

Good luck tomorrow! Hope it will be an encouraging experience for you. Love your happiness reports and hope you will continue them. Love you and enjoy your blog.

  9. Good luck tomorrow! You’ll do great!

  10. Thank you for this post! I was so tired and stressed after past few days… Our little guinea pig which was just four years old suddenly died yesterday. Moreover, I’ve barely recoverd from an ilness and it was directly from bed to school today. But now I’m smiling (something really unexpected to happen) and seeking around for something else to make me smile :) You really can add some sunshine to others’ lives through your blog.

  11. Sweater weather. I want sweater weather!

My happiness? Watching a post of mine take off in the internet world, knowing that we have a WHOLE weekend together as a family and finding a super yummy sugar-free salsa. It’s the little things!

  12. That website is gorgeous! Love your happiness reports. Today I am happy for faith and family. Good luck on your marathon, I am SURE you will do great. Even if you don’t you do!! (hope that makes sense lol)

  13. At this moment, the perfect autumn weather we had today is making me so happy!

  14. Love that mug! And I am so into Eva’s blog right now, too. Good luck tomorrow!

  15. Good luck tomorrow! I am not a runner in any way, so I cannot even imagine. I will be think of you!

Thanks for introducing me to Adventures in cooking! Stunning photos! I cannot wait to look around!!

I am loving what you are doing on facebook. It is so nice of you and I love finding new blogs!

  16. I’m happy to see that the book recommendation website I told you about made you happy this week! Honestly, sometimes, it’s the littlest things that make us the happiest.

Good luck tomorrow! I can’t wait to see your Finish Line photo! YOU CAN DO IT!

  17. Thanks for sharing the link to the photo. Hedgehogs always make me smile.

  18. Your happiness report always makes me happy. So proud to call you my friend :) Good luck with the marathon!

  19. You want to know what’s making me happy? I’m happy I don’t have to run a half-marathon today!

Seriously though I know you’ll survive it, but be sure to put your feet up and make everyone else wait on you while you recover!

  20. Good luck today!! I hope it went well and you enjoyed it. Love all of your happiness report. What is making us happy is that you have been an amazing support. You shared our blog for our 1 year blogiversary. Sara and I hope one day we can return the favor to new blogs. We hope to learn more over the years as there is so much to learn. Love love Erin Condren and love love the blog What’s Cooking those are simply amazing photos. I hope you continue finding new and great mugs as I love mugs too. Have a fab weekend!

  1. […] Unplug. That means your computer, cell phone, iPad, iPod, tablet, beeper. Whatever you have that is connecting you with the interwebs, turn off and leave off for a few hours. Or hell, overnight. If you’re like me, seeing the success of others can somethings be overwhelming. Seeing the perfectly skinny girls with perfect hair and perfect makeup on Pinterest is enough to send me spiraling into a tunnel of self loathing. So, I turn it off. If you need a lesson on unplugging, check out my girl Kristin at Dine and Dish. […]
