I remembered you posting about this and came back searching…tomorrow is the last day of school. I’m panicking a little. My house is a mess. Not the way I wanted to go into summer. So, Thursday morning, kids favorite tunes will be on and we will divide and conquer for a bit. And the two bag idea is genius. That is going to happen too. My biggest hurdle is having an almost 3 year old that WANTS TO HELP but does not want to be shown how to do something. ooooph

My girls are still so young that if I sent them into their room with a sack to fill I would find them playing with legos 5 minutes later. I do love the idea of a chore jar because I get bored with the same chores all the time. And, of course, they help with all the kitchen stuff.

These are some good ideas! We are already doing the 15 minute thing, but I am going to have to try the bag and the drawing tasks from a bucket. (I just bought some more Popsicle sticks.) I think I will make them draw a task every time they ask to play on the computer. I had been making them earn computer time by reading a book or some other task, but I love the idea of randomly drawing one!

Before we leave the house, we often have a “2 minute drill”. I set the timer on the microwave for 2 minutes, and challenge Ben and Maggie to get everything picked up in the living room before it goes off. They love doing it, almost always get it all done, and when we come home, the living room is neat. Win-win-win!
