Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day Cookbook

I just got done making the easiest loaf of homemade bread, ever. I make homemade bread a lot… I enjoy making bread but often times will use my bread machine to make things easier.

I’ve known about the Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day Cookbook for quite some time, but had ignored making it because I assumed that it meant “babysitting” bread for five minutes each day. I have four kids to take care of and do not have time to babysit food! After doing some research, I discovered I was totally wrong. Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day is about making a batch of the dough and then snipping off pieces when you need it, giving you the opportunity to have fresh, homemade bread on any given night.

Anyway, excuse the pictures… they are taken with my iPhone, but I wanted to get my thoughts about this great book out to you today. If you have last minute Christmas shopping to do, this is a great book to pick up! I was able to download it on my Kindle today and had it to use instantly.

For the basic recipe, feel free to visit that Artisan Bread in Five website. For a variety of quick and delicious bread recipes, make sure to put this cookbook on your must have list. As someone who doesn’t keep a lot of cookbooks on my shelf, I can tell you this one is well worth making room for!

  1. I’ve been curious about that book for awhile…obviously I need to buy it!! Thanks for the push, I can’t wait to make some pretty bread :)

  2. Elle Hyson says:

I love their boules and especially the Jewish Deli Rye with caraway seeds – best ever and especially love that it is so easy to make.

  3. I’ve been using this book for the past year. Absolutely love it – and the recipe is fool proof. Makes better bread then you can buy, and much easier then running out to the store.

  4. This is awesome! I would love to make my own bread in 5 minutes..it’d taste so much better than store bought :)

  5. I have been looking at that book for a while now. I knew I should have grabbed it! Love the bread and I’m sneaking this onto my last minute Santa List. xoxo

  6. We love this book! Haven’t made the bread in some time, but may have to pull it back out and get baking with it again!

  7. Thanks for the kind words, Kristen! If people have questions, we still answer them (ourselves!) at BreadIn5.com

  8. I have been using the books for a while also. Just got the Pizza and Flatbread
In 5 minutes a day and have made several pizzas and the skillet apple pie and blush apple tart. Just fabulous and so easy. I bake outdoors in a Weber BabyQ.

  9. funny … reading about artisan bread in five minutes … and at the bottom there’s an ad for pop and fresh biscuits. that’s like one minute a day!

  10. I’ve got that book and have made bread with that method several times. I like it a lot but kind of fell out of doing it. I should do it again soon… Good reminder! :)

  11. LOVE this cookbook and this bread. Two Christmas’s ago, my husband was bored as we visited my parents. He picked up this recipe; asked me if I’ve ever made bread, ( “No”) and proceeded to mix up a batch. Two years, 10 pounds, and many, many trips to buy flour later, he has become known for this wonderful bread. He often makes it as a gift for friends, anyone ill, and has taught many other non-kitchen husbands how to make it also! It is easy, it is wonderful and it is YUMMY! ( Just an FYI… I still have not made it myself yet :) Hubby loves the recognition, and I am happy for him! )

  12. Andrea Merrin says:

I finally purchased this book for my iPad, I made the recipe today… do you know if instead of making a “peel” for the bread, one could just use parchment paper and transfer the bread to the stone in the oven that way? Thanks for sharing this book – I am so looking forward to seeing how the bread turns out!
