Orville Redenbacher Healthy Holiday Snacking Giveaway

I am one of those people who can go all day without eating, but by the time 5pm rolls around I am starving and eat everything in site. I’m quite the picture of health, aren’t I?

I need to lose what I still call “the baby weight”, although with an 18 month old now, I’m not so sure I can use that excuse anymore. I think I’ll lovingly refer to my extra pounds as the “I’m just too lazy and like food too much, weight”. I plan on officially joining Weight Watchers again in January as their POINTS system (which is new and now includes most fruits for 0 POINTs…have you heard?) combined with exercise and a focus on portion control really seems to work well for me.

I know that in order to be successful with any weight loss plan, I need to incorporate healthy snacking instead of end of day gorging into my life. We love popcorn around here because it is tasty, easy to make and filling. In addition, it is a great source of fiber and is often low in calories. I’m excited to learn more about popcorn and healthy snacking during the Twitter Girls Night Out party on Monday, December 6th. Hope you’ll join in!

In conjunction with Orville Redenbacher, Mom it Forward (the creators of Twitter Girls Night Out) and Dine & Dish, one of my lucky readers will win an Orville Redenbacher prize pack (ARV $50). The prize pack includes a really cool red popcorn bowl from Crate & Barrel, a variety of Orville Redenbacher popcorn (Light Butter, Lime and Salt, Cheddar and Kettle Corn) as well as a variety of healthy snack recipe mix-ins to go with some of the recipes on the Orville Redenbacher site. How fun is that? To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite healthy holiday snack is.

For multiple entries, you can do any or all of the following:

I was compensated to help spread the word about the Orville Redenbacher / Mom it Forward campaign.

OK at first I was going to say those little peanutbutter balls dipped in chocolate but then I saw Healthy, lol,so my favorite healthy holiday snack is these little turkey burger sliders that I make with a chipolte sauce, very yummy and fairly good for me too!

  2. love snacking on popcorn – it’s has all the perfect elements for the holidays…it’s light, makes you feel like you’re eating a lot, but not, it’s easy to share, can be used as a decoration ;o), can be salty, sweet or both….i could go on and on!

  3. The Butter Toffee crunch recipe from the website sounds fantastic

  4. chewy popcorn bars sound heavenly – just the right amount of sweet & salty

  5. I like light popcorn with powdered cheese and chili powder. yum

  6. Popcorn is definitely what helps me when doing WW. It can be a good healthy treat, but also help when you have the munchies! (Note: On the new PointsPlus plan Orville’s Smart Pop Microwave is 3pts for a 5 cup serving) :0)

  7. I absolutely love carrots & peanut butter :)

  8. the best healthy holiday snack is pomegranate arils and a little bit of super dark chocolate…yum!

  9. Oh, and my “healthy” holiday treat I like are pretzel rods dipped in dark chocolate and with the mini sprinkles on them for that added holiday touch. Salt, chocolate, and some sugar…what more could a woman ask for. Ha!

  10. I like a yogurt that has pomegranate or cherry in it.

  11. I happen to love popcorn for a snack – I never get tired of it!

  12. The only healthy thing I tend to even consider eating around the holidays is the fresh veggie tray that some caring person has brought to whatever shindig I attend. Of course, I slather each veggie in the dip, but I think it still counts.

  13. I love apple slices dipped in gingersnap dip (cream cheese, cinnamon, ground gingersnaps…)! Yum!

  14. Popcorn sprinkled with cinnamon. also the kids love carrots celery and teensy tomatoes made to look like a Christmas tree.

  15. My fave is gingersnaps! For some reason I don’t think I can bake them anytime other time of year, only the holidays…so I look forward to them and eat a ton!

  16. If we want a snack in the evening, it’s usually popcorn – sometimes The Professor adds parmesan cheese if we feel like splurging!

  17. I LOVE popcorn and usually eat it a few time (like 5) a week! Great low calorie and fills you up!

  18. Love popcorn! And so do my dogs!

  19. Cathy Hodge Smith says:

I put chili salt on my popcorn and have a small platter of sliced apples and cheddar cheese to alternate with the popcorn. Very tasty, filling and healthy!

  20. Ana de Paula says:

My favorite holiday snack is definitely panettone. When I am feeling guilty about too much panettone, I change to walnuts or yogurt covered pretzels for a few days ;-)
