Video: Kraft Foods Big Fork Little Fork iPad App

by Kristen on September 4, 2010

Big Fork Little Fork is a new Apple iPad application by Kraft Foods designed to get kids engaged and excited about food and spending time in the kitchen. Since I have a couple of growing foodies in my home, I was excited when Kraft contacted me to see if I’d have an interest in being part of a group of bloggers chosen to try out their new app. The problem? I don’t have an iPad (although I really want one… hint hint hubby, my birthday is in one month!). Not to fear, Kraft said they would let me borrow an iPad as well to really give their app a thorough test run.

The Big Fork Little Fork iPad app by Kraft Foods ended up being a huge hit with my kids and I. Filled with fun games, instructional videos, cooking tips, recipes and a really impressive user interface, this beautiful application is well worth the $1.99 charge to download it.

I decided to do a little video of two of my girls, Kelly and Ella, using this Apple iPad application where it fits most… in the kitchen. We ended up going the non-healthy route and created a fun ghostly dessert for Halloween: Boo Cups. We had a ball! I hope you enjoy the video.

Ah… an iPad is almost what I’ve always dreamed of “inventing” for my kitchen to store my recipes. How fun!

Do you have a link for the ghostly recipe?

Loved the video. Your girls are super cute.

Will have to check out that video app you used. I also really liked the still shots you added, the lighting and design of the photos looked very cool! What did you do (camera wise, or using photo shop?)? (if you have time to answer, but no worries if you dont)

Love the video! Your girls are so cute :-) Never thought I’d want an iPad but in a couple of years my granddaughter would be old enough to start hanging out with me in the kitchen. I can see how much fun it would be! In the meantime I could be practicing ;-) Thanks for sharing!

What a cute video! The girls look like they had a blast. I love my iPad, although I’ve been a little selfish with it based on how eagerly my daughter seized my iPhone!

What cute little foodies!! That dessert looks yummy! The video is very well done. Thanks for sharing it. Love you all!! An IPad looks like a fun tool for the kitchen. I just had a little cup of Jello chocolate pudding for dessert tonight, but it wasn’t as fancy as your recipe was.

was in the technology biz for a while (systems developer for the Army), so these kinds of things always get my attention. kinda funny, there have been tons of “for the kitchen” computers in the past, but it took Apple to realize that all folks wanted was the box and that developers + consumers would provide the content.

just be careful. I’ve dunked my iPhone in a full sink once already!

cheers!

Great video, Kristen! Love how you work photos into your videos as well. Kelly is the quintessential little momma, and Ella stirring cracks me up—she’s so intent! Adorable doesn’t even come close :) And the Boo Cups? Perfect for Halloween parties. Great job to all of you girls!
