Pita in salad sounds like a great idea! We've started looking for a home and are having a hard time finding a place. The market here is kind of going crazy. Where ever we end up, I hope that we have good neighbours like yours. The recipe sounds wonderful! I know what you mean about maybe not loving the place you live, but having amazing friends and neighbors makes it all better!
