Great post!!!! I didn't know we met before... Oh wait, you were talking about yourself not me! ;-) I was the same way all the time... like in HS and now... I soooo get what you are saying and I sooo agree about the Barbie Brigade. They are nice. My sisters happen to be friends with many of this sort and frankly... they are so nice and cute... You can't do anything but want to be their friend. A couple I found out were not very social or talking to others only because they were shy!

PS. As one who is not a morning person, even BEFORE the kids, I once went to work with one black pump and one navy pump! They weren't eve the same exact show or even the exact height (close)! Ha ha ha.

PPS. Your dip sounds quite dipable and I don't ever pass up a dip!

I could probably eat this whole dip myself. Thanks for this, I don't have much of a recipe repertoire for warm dips.

Kristen - why is that I can relate to just about everything you write? Maybe it's the midwestern girl in me! I totally agree, that looks can be deceiving ... some of those put-together moms are such fun to be around. So, hopefully, they'll notice those of us who are not so put-together and see we are pretty fun, too. :)

I love the texture of this dip, nice and chunky. Made with flavours I wouldn't have thought up, but sound immediately tasty :)

I can relate to the Barbie Brigade. I was the mom who came to school with slippers because I forgot to change to shoes.

I love the combination of Spinach and Artichokes. This sounds like a delicious recipe. I will finally use that crockpot!

Mmmm..this looks so good! I bought some Manchego cheese at the store wanting to try it and I didn't really know what to do with it (Other than cram the whole wedge into my mouth). I think I'll swap out the MJ for the Manchego.

Barbie Moms...When you're only 5'1" the Barbie Moms tend to overlook you, literally. That's why I stay in the car and pick Caedon up in the cul-de-sac. :)

PS. I've missed you during my not-so-self-imposed blogger sabatical. I'm getting caught up, slowly. Congrats on the girly!

Great post! I wonder what kind of mom I might one day be. I have a feeling it won't be the always put together kind! But I would also never pass over a gorgeous dip like this. Lesson learned!

Lovely story! The recipe fits this post perfectly. I bet you could pass for one of the Barbie Brigade if you wanted to.

One of my favorite dips. I love Spinach and Artichoke. I bet the shredded Monterey Jack adds a wonderful flavor. I know what I'm making next time I need a dip.
